My name is Alex Carson. I'm 18 years old and from Orlando, Florida. I'm studying Digital Media Production at Florida State University. I am passionate about video editing and have logged countless hours in Premiere Pro. This summer I had an editing internship with a multimedia company in Orlando. I also had the opportunity to be a production assistant on commercials, corporate content shoots, etc.
My interests outside of video production include music, politics, and video games. I listen to a multitude of alternative artists, such as Yung lean and Bladee from Stockholm to Wicca Phase Springs Eternal from Scranton. Their exploration of the esoteric and consumerism through music is fascinating. I am also a passionate Democratic Socialist. I'm greatly disillusioned by the moderate parties of the American political system. I'm a passionate Bernie Sanders supporter. I believe writer Amber A'lee Frost said it best, "I don’t care if we have to roll him out on a hand truck and sprinkle cocaine into his coleslaw before every speech. If he dies mid-run, we’ll stuff him full of sawdust, shove a hand up his a** and operate him like a god**** muppet." As far as video games go I play a lot of CS:GO, Fallout, Wolfenstein, Pokemon, Titanfall, etc. I even brought my gaming desk chair to college.
I'm excited to take this class and broaden my technical abilities. I would definitely like to expand my horizons past video editing and Photoshop.
The image below is something I made in Photoshop. It's a heavily edited picture of me holding the beverage Game Fuel. I thought it was hilarious that there was a beverage made exclusively for gaming. That night me and my friends bought $50 worth of Game Fuel. Not my proudest moment to say the least.
